鳥山明の漫画作品『ドラゴンボール』のアニメシリーズとしては2015年7月から2018年3月まで放送された『ドラゴンボール超』以来6年ぶりのテレビアニメとなる。 This is the first TV anime in six years based on Akira Toriyama’s manga series Dragon Ball, following Dragon Ball Super, which aired from July 2015 to March 2018.
2023年10月にニューヨークで開催された「ニューヨーク・コミコン」のパネルにて、『ドラゴンボール』40周年記念作品として本作品が2024年秋に日本国内外で展開されると発表されたのがこのアニメの発端である。 The anime originated from an announcement during a panel at the New York Comic Con in October 2023, where it was revealed as a 40th-anniversary project for Dragon Ball to be released in Japan and abroad in the fall of 2024.
このアニメは『ドラゴンボール』シリーズとしては初の深夜放送となっている。 This is the first Dragon Ball series to be broadcast during late-night hours.
DAIMAというのは造語で、漢字では『大魔』、英語では『Evil』といった感じでしょうか」と鳥山先生は述べているらしい。 DAIMA is a coined word, and Toriyama-sensei reportedly said it might translate to “Great Demon” in kanji or “Evil” in English.
今回のアニメの始まりは、トランクスの9歳の誕生パーティに集まっていた悟空たちは突然子供の体に若返ってしまったことで、天界の宮殿にて状況を探り話し合っていた。 The anime begins with Goku and others, gathered at Trunks’ 9th birthday party, suddenly reverting to their childlike bodies and discussing the situation in the heavenly palace.
その場に現れた少年魔人・グロリオからの依頼を受けたこと、そしてデンデの救出と元の体を取り戻すため、悟空、界王神、グロリオの3人で大魔界を目指すこととなる。 Accepting a request from a young demon named Glorio, Goku, the Supreme Kai, and Glorio set out for the Demon World to rescue Dende and reclaim their original forms.
僕は実際には見ていないのだが子供のころの悟空には、僕も子供のころに様々な刺激をもらったからあらすじを見て、このアニメを見始めようと思う。 Although I haven’t watched it yet, Goku’s childhood adventures inspired me in many ways when I was a child, so after reading the synopsis, I decided to start watching this anime.
デンデというキャラもキーマンとなるところが面白いと思う。昔はかなりのわき役だったのだが… I find it interesting that Dende becomes a key character. He used to be quite a minor character in the past…
